Training Guide: Arquella and Nourish Integration

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to help care staff and administrators utilise the Arquella and Nourish integration effectively.

By combining the features of Arquella’s advanced systems with Nourish’s digital care record (DCR) platform, care providers can ensure accurate data sharing, improved workflows, and better care outcomes.

1. Overview of the Arquella and Nourish Integration

The integration between Arquella and Nourish links both systems, such as the Arquella Nurse Call System, Arquella Connect and Nourish’s DCR platform.

This enables:

  • Automatic synchronisation of resident information and alerts.
  • Real-time updates on care activities and call responses.
  • Enhanced reporting and data-driven decision-making.

2. Setting Up the Integration

To get started, follow these steps to activate the connection between Arquella and Nourish:

Step 1: Generate an API Key in Arquella Connect

  1. Log in to the Arquella Connect Dashboard using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Settings menu and click on Integrations.
  3. Select Create New Integration and choose "Nourish" from the options.
  4. Click Create to generate an API key.
    • Copy this key securely, as you will need it in Nourish.

Step 2: Activate the Integration in Nourish

  1. Log in to Nourish and go to Extensions under the Administration menu.
  2. Enable the Arquella Extension by toggling it on.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions when prompted.
  4. Paste the API key from Arquella into the relevant field in Nourish.
  5. Confirm the integration is enabled.

Step 3: Verify the Connection

  1. Return to the Arquella Connect Dashboard.
  2. Check the integration status under Integrations; it should display as Active.

3. Assigning Rooms to Residents

After activating the integration, link rooms in Arquella to residents in Nourish:

  1. Open the Residents Page in the Arquella Connect Dashboard.
  2. Locate a resident and click the three dots next to their name to open the details view.
  3. Assign rooms using the Zone and Room dropdown menus.
    • You can assign multiple rooms (e.g., bedroom and ensuite).

This ensures that alerts from specific rooms are linked to the correct resident in Nourish.


4. Using the Integration for Care Delivery

Real-Time Alerts

  • Alerts from Arquella’s Nurse Call System (e.g., assistance requests, emergency calls) automatically update in Nourish, ensuring accurate records of care interactions.

Care Clicks

  • Actions logged via Care Clicks in Arquella (e.g., repositioning or toileting) are synchronised with Nourish as part of the resident’s care record.

Behaviour and Safety Monitoring

  • Alerts from Arquella Sense (e.g., falls) are linked to resident records in Nourish, providing carers with actionable insights.

5. Benefits of the Integration

  • Streamlined Workflows: Reduces manual data entry by syncing records automatically.
  • Improved Care Coordination: Ensures all staff have up-to-date information.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Enables better compliance with regulatory standards.

6. Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter problems during setup or use, follow these steps:

API Key Issues

  • Verify the API key is correctly copied and entered into Nourish.
  • Ensure you have generated a unique API key for each service.

Missing Alerts

  • Confirm that rooms are correctly assigned to residents in the Arquella dashboard.
  • Ensure the integration is marked as Active.

Sync Delays

  • Check the internet connection of both systems.
  • Restart the integration by disabling and re-enabling it in the Nourish administration panel.

NFC Isn't Working

  • Nourish handsets have their NFC in the middle of their devices, not near the camera like other Android handsets.
